Powertrain: The diesel variants of the 7 Series are powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged engine making 265PS/620Nm while the 740Li variant is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder turbo-petrol unit making 340PS/450Nm. The 745Le variant uses an eDrive motor in addition to the same petrol engine for a combined output of 394PS/600Nm. The PHEV variant offers an all-electric range of 58km.
The top-spec M760Li variant is powered by a 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 petrol engine which has an output of 609PS/850Nm. All engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the xDrive variants come with all-wheel-drive.
Features: BMW offers the 7 Series with features like BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive air suspension on both axles, two 10.2-inch full HD screens in the second row, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon music system, a panoramic sunroof, Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View Camera (automatically parks in tight places), a Reversing Assistant, six airbags as well as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that includes Corner Braking Control (CBC).
Rivals: The BMW 7 Series goes up against the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Lexus LS500h, upcoming Audi A8 and the outgoing Jaguar XJ in India.
